User Interface
The user interface is used as follows:
- As the power tool status indicator
- For switching the Adaptive Speed Control and Stop Control functions on and off
- For switching the KickBack Control function on and off
- For signalling warnings (e.g. temperature dependent overload protection)
- For resetting to factory settings (reset)
Note: When one of the buttons on the user interface (17) is pressed for the first time, the lighting of the user interface is switched on. Only then can settings be changed.
If possible, change the settings on the user interface (17) before switching on the power tool.
Colour of the status indicator (14) | Meaning | Remedy |
---|---|---|
– | Power tool switched off | – |
Green | Power tool switched on and ready to use | – |
Yellow | Critical temperature reached | Switch the power tool off and allow it to cool down. |
Battery almost empty | Charge the battery. | |
KickBack Control function switched off | Switch the KickBack Control function back on. | |
Flashing red | Kickback, KickBack Control function triggered | Switch off the power tool and rectify the blockage in the saw blade, if necessary. |
Red | Power tool has overheated. | Leave the power tool to cool down. |
Battery empty | Charge the battery. | |
4 × flashing blue | Reset triggered | – |
The Adaptive Speed Control function enables precise cuts:
- When the function is switched on, the stroke rate is low at the start of the cut. This allows the saw blade to be positioned as precisely as possible on the required cutting line.
- As soon as the saw blade enters the workpiece, the stroke rate is automatically increased to the preselected stroke rate level.
- Once the work process has finished, when the saw blade leaves the workpiece, the stroke rate is automatically reduced again. The power tool remains switched on (for as long as the on/off switch (7) is pressed).
- The Adaptive Speed Control function is especially suitable for sawing and separating hard materials like metal or hardwood.
- To switch the Adaptive Speed Control function on and off, press the mode button (18) repeatedly until the Adaptive Speed Control indicator (16) lights up (on) or goes out (off).
The Stop Control function reduces the risk of damaging neighbouring objects:
- The power tool switches off automatically at the end of a work process (when the saw blade leaves the workpiece). The Stop Control indicator (15) flashes to indicate automatic shut-down.
- To switch the Stop Control function on and off, press the mode button (18) repeatedly until the Stop Control indicator (15) lights up (on) or goes out (off).
The Adaptive Speed Control and Stop Control functions can be used individually or in combination. The function settings are saved when the power tool is switched off.

If the KickBack Control function is switched on, the power supply to the motor will be interrupted electronically if there is a sudden kickback in the power tool (e.g. due to a blocked saw blade).
The KickBack Control function is switched on by default; ON is lit up green in the KickBack Control indicator (13).
If the KickBack Control function has been triggered, the following will occur:
- The motor is switched off,
- ON is lit up red in the KickBack Control indicator (13),
- the (14) status indicator flashes red,
- the worklight (9) flashes.
Release the on/off switch (7). To restart the tool, rectify the blockage in the saw blade, if necessary, and then switch the power tool back on again.
To switch off the KickBack Control function, press the KickBack Control button (12). OFF is lit up in the KickBack Control indicator (13) and the status indicator (14) is lit up yellow. If the power tool is not used for longer than 5 min or if the rechargeable battery is removed, the KickBack Control function automatically switches back on.
- It will no longer be possible to switch the power tool on if the KickBack Control function is faulty. Have the power tool serviced by a qualified repair person using only original replacement parts.
